The Reconnecting Cambodia Project
Founded by Li-Da Kruger
The Reconnecting Cambodia (RC) Project reunites Cambodian families separated by war, the Khmer Rouge genocide, poverty, and international adoption through DNA testing and genealogical research.
Li-Da Kruger was born in Cambodia and adopted to the UK as a baby. A career in TV and independent film — including the documentaries Belonging (ITV, 2004) and Prue Leith: Journey With My Daughter (Channel 4, 2020) — grew from the need to explore her own origins. Inspired by the harrowing story of Mrs. Soth, who lost her baby daughter just before the Khmer Rouge era, Li-Da co-founded DNACambodia and then Reconnecting Cambodia, dedicated to reuniting families separated by decades of conflict and adoption.
